A rich programme of religious, commemorative and cultural events honours the historic Naval Battle of Mykale in Pythagoreion – one of the most significant moments of the Samian Revolution of 1821.
Events begin at 08:00 with the Official Flag Raising.
At 10:30, the official Te Deum at the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Samos and Icaria, His Eminence Evsevios, with the commemorative address delivered by philologist Eleni Dima.
At 11:00, memorial service and wreath-laying at the statue of Lycurgus Logothetis.
At 11:30, traditional dances by the Cultural Association «Lycurgus».
At 20:00, Flag Lowering, and at 20:30 the grand cultural event «Meeting in Pythagoreion».
