The Municipality of Eastern Samos, in cooperation with the Samos Animal Welfare Association and within the framework of its responsibilities under Law 4830/2021, is launching a free programme for the sterilisation and electronic registration of stray companion animals, specifically dogs.
Sterilisations will take place from 10 to 14 November 2026, with the assistance of volunteer veterinarians, in a suitably equipped municipal facility in the Vlamari area.
Community representatives are asked to report female stray dogs in all villages. Free sterilisation is also available to owners belonging to vulnerable social groups and to owners of dogs used for guarding flocks.
