The feast of the Transfiguration of the Saviour will be celebrated with great splendour in Pythagoreion, with a rich programme of religious and commemorative events.
The celebrations will begin at 19:00 with the Grand Solemn Vespers at the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Samos, Icaria and Corseon, His Eminence Evsevios.
At 21:00, the procession of the Holy Icon of the Transfiguration will take place through the streets of Pythagoreion, ending at the harbour for a prayer service.
The programme will culminate at 22:00 with the solemn celebration and the re-enactment of the historic Naval Battle of Mykale, a spectacular event that revives one of the most significant moments in the history of Samos, offering visitors a unique experience of memory and tradition.
