Fragments of the past acquire unexpected new lives in the exhibition “Fragments and Futures: Contemporary Encounters with Classical Archaeology” at Art Space Pythagorion in Samos.
Curated by Katerina Gregos and Ioli Tzanetaki, the exhibition places archaeology at the centre of a wider discussion: who writes history, who decides what deserves to be preserved and exhibited, and whose lives remain outside the official narrative.
Four artists examine the fragments of the past, the prejudices that can survive into the age of artificial intelligence, and the ways in which the present-day gaze continually transforms what we believe we know about antiquity.
